Learn Calligraphy From Japan’s Last Master
Learn the art of Hissekijutsu calligraphy in this hands on experience from MADARA, the only calligrapher practicing this style of calligraphy left in Japan!
Hissekijutsu calligraphy places meaning behind each stroke and in this 2 hour workshop you will learn the history and culture before having a go yourself whilst enjoying Japanese sweets and tea.
At the end of the class you will also receive a custom one of a kind artwork made live by MADARA himself using your name converted into Japanese characters (Kanji) and another custom item of your choice! MADARA will choose the characters that carry deep and meaningful significance.
Calligraphy Experience (2 hours)
¥26,500 per person
In this experience, you will:
Learn about the history of kanji, calligraphy and hissekijutsu
Hands on calligraphy lesson, learning different brush stroke techniques
Personalised artwork scroll with carefully chosen Japanese characters using the hissekijutsu technique
Choose a customised item from either a t-shirt, tote bag or tenugui (Japanese hand towel)
Fact about MADARA's years of experience and still not being considered the top rank
Other things to note:
This craft is also suitable for children (aged 5 and above) and families
No experience required and no need to prepare or bring anything!
Traditional Japanese sweets and tea will be provided
Your customised item will be available after 3pm or you can have it delivered to your hotel (at no additional cost). Overseas shipping is also available at an additional cost.
