Basho Gallery & Cafe
This former tonkatsu restaurant has been transformed into a gallery and cafe space run by a mum and her son. Throughout the year you will be able to visit and purchase different clothing, shoes, pottery, textiles and more created by craftsman throughout Japan.
Here you will also be able to enjoy traditional Japanese desserts such as Anmitsu (refreshing dessert made with jelly, red bean paste, fruit and mochi). The kanten jelly used in this dessert has been made from scratch, in house as the second generation owner was not satisfied with all pre-made options available.
You will also be able to enjoy a variety of matcha desserts, like parfaits and ice cream, as well as seasonal desserts!
The exhibits and items for sale are constantly changing so if something piques your interest make sure you get it or you may not see it again!
